Photo 3 Assignment Directions & Idea List

From here on out it will be up to you to decide what you will take photos of.  Check out the ideas list if you get stuck!

Every other week you will have a contact sheet with at least 24 NEW photos due for participation points.

On the other weeks you will have a blog post due.  You will need to post your at least 4 of your best photos from your contact sheet.  You will need to include a paragraph about what you took photos of and why.  You will also need to write about what you learned from the photo shot.  Tell about what you feel that you did well and things that you might change for next time.
(So you will alternate, contact sheet due one week and blog post due the other week.)

**Your first Contact Sheet will be due Wed. Feb 15**

It is your job to get projects in ON TIME.  I will pre-enter due dates in the
grade book if you need to look up when things are due.

Assignment Idea List
(This will change from time to time as I find new things.  Feel free to email ideas or sites that you find for ideas you'd like me to add)

Light painting

Pareidolia
A psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant. Common examples include seeing images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon, and hearing hidden messages on records played in reverse. Capture a real world example of this phenomenon. Your subject should not be created specifically for this challenge - buildings, bridges and other man-made objects are OK, as long as it is not an object specifically fashioned for the challenge to look significant.

Traveling Object photos
Choose a single object and put it in every photo you shoot.  It can be a large object that you search out (for example, a fire hydrant) or an object you can carry with you (like a pair of sunglasses)

Film Noir
"Film Noir" is a genre of film between 1940 and 1960, originating in the United States, employing heavy shadows and patterns of darkness, in which the protagonist dies, meets defeat, or achieves meaningless victory in the end. Take a photo using the style of film noir. Sunset Blvd. is a great movie that does a great job of showing examples of this, Google it!
