#2 Assignment- Walk in another photographer's shoes

• Research at least 3 different types of photography (commercial, portrait, art, photojournalism, etc…) and find a photographer that inspires and works in a style that you would like to try.  Here's a link to get you started: http://www.photography.com/articles/  Also check out Flickr for more ideas.
• Write a paragraph about the photographer that you chose.  Give a short history about them and tell why you picked them. Also in this paragraph define what you think this photographer's style is, what sets them about from others in their field. If they are still living, try emailing them to get more info.
• Shoot at least 24 photos in their style.  Print a contact sheet and turn in.  Post your best 5 photos to your blog along with the photo(s) from the photographer that inspired you.

#1 Assignment- Setting up your blog

For this class you will be required to create your own photo blog.  Do the following to receive your first participation points for this assignment...

• Either use an existing gmail account or sign up for a gmail account through google.com
• Go to www.blogger.com and follow the steps to create your own blog.  Make sure to come up with a creative name and customize your blog template.
• Make your first post to your blog a small paragraph about you.  Tell me who you think you are as a photographer and what you hope to get from this class.  Also tell me a few things you would like to do or learn.
• Add a photo that you have taken on your own over the summer that you are proud of.  Tell me why you chose the photo and why you feel that it is successful.
• Send me a link (for example: www.mvhsphoto3.blogspot.com) through your gmail account to my email vinzant.mvhs@gmail.com
• This assignment needs to be completed by the end of the day on WED 1/11/12 to receive full points.
